Cookies

Draft, not yet reviewed. This text was prepared from what the site actually does, but it has not been checked by a qualified adviser, and the highlighted values still have to be filled in. It must not be relied on, and this page should not be published in this state.
This page lists everything this site stores in your browser. The list is short, and it is complete.
The one cookie we set
- better-auth.session_token
- Set only when you sign in, and only then. It is what keeps you signed in as you move between lessons: without it every page would ask you to sign in again. It contains a random session identifier, nothing about you, and it expires after thirty days. Signing out removes it.
That is the whole list. We set no cookies at all until you sign in, so browsing the sales page, taking the quiz or reading this page leaves nothing behind.
Two things kept in your browser
These are not cookies. They stay on your device and are never sent to us, but they are listed here because they are still something the site stores.
- yts-a11y
- Your accessibility choices: text size, high contrast, underlined links, reduced motion. Kept so the page looks the way you set it the next time you visit. It belongs to this browser rather than to an account, because it describes the screen you are reading on.
- media-chrome-pref-muted
- Whether you muted the video player, so the next lesson does not start playing out loud in a quiet room. Written by the player itself. This one belongs to the device too: someone watching on a train and someone watching at home want different answers.
Your progress through the course is not kept here. Which lessons you have finished, your quiz scores and where you paused a video are stored on our servers against your account, so the course follows you from a laptop to a phone and clearing your browser data does not lose it. What we hold, and for how long, is in the privacy notice.
What we do not use
No analytics cookies. No advertising or social media trackers. No third-party fonts, so opening a page does not tell any other company that you were here. Nothing that follows you to other sites.
Why there is no cookie banner
Consent is required for cookies that are not strictly necessary. The only cookie we set is the one that keeps you signed in, which is necessary for a service you explicitly asked for, so there is nothing to ask you to agree to. If we ever add analytics, this page changes and you will be asked first.
Stripe
When you buy the course, payment happens on Stripe's own pages. Stripe sets its own cookies there, on its own domain, mainly to detect fraud. Those are described in Stripe's cookie policy, and we have no control over them.
Controlling all this
Every browser can block or delete cookies and site storage. If you block ours you can still read the sales page and take the quiz, but you will not be able to stay signed in to the course. Questions: monica@yourtravelschool.com.
